Today we began our journey. Our group of 21 travelers met at Baltimore-Washington International Airport to begin the first leg of our trip to Frankfurt, Germany. The trip takes approximately seven and a half hours and takes into the “future,” as Germany is 6 hours ahead of Maryland. Most of the trip was at night, so we could sleep. We had a layover in Frankfurt which was just enough to complete the immigration process, collect our luggage, and re-check our bags since this was not a connecting flight. We arrived in Hamburg at about 4:30 pm local time where we were greeted by our DAGRP hosts who helped us take the train to our hostel where we were finally able to settle in.
